During a cold windy day, I have to wait for my friends in a bus stop. To avoid being freeze, I run to a nearby McDonalds for having hot chocolate.
Well for ordering in a restaurant or café, I use to speak in German. And so far, I have no problem with that. So I ask the waiter for Hot Chocolate in German. He then goes to prepare it for me. But when he comes back, he comes with… Chocolate Sundae Ice Cream!!!
Gooosh…. Is my German so terrible?

My name is Asti from Indonesia. I come to Germany as a scholarship grantee for Master Degree. I study Tropical Marine Ecology in the University of Bremen.
I never been to Germany before, in fact, I never been to Europe at all. Well technically I’ve been to Europe in 1996. I was stranded in Heathrow Airport, London for about 16 hours without having England’s visa, so I couldn’t come out to breathe the real England’s air. So I think, this doesn’t count as a ‘been to Europe’.
This blog is my stories about my daily life in Germany. How do I adapt to it and surviving it.
