German League Cup

Finally….!!! My dream comes true…. Mission accomplished!

I got a chance to experience the city party due to football. As a football mania; I grew up watching this kind of celebration on TV. I watched how the football heroes were welcomed with huge party all over the city. And since I never had any experience of that, I really want to know how it feels. (Well if you wonder why I never had the experience; let’s just say it’s due to Indonesian football achievements. Go figure!).

When Werder Bremen reached the UEFA Cup Final; I thought I would get my chance. I am really ready for that. Really! But as it happened, they lost; and I loose my chance.

Another chance comes from the German League Cup Final. This time, I wouldn’t dare to expect so much; I am afraid to end up in a disappointment again. So this time, I didn’t go to city centre for watching the game. I just stay at my neighbor’s to watch it.

But apparently, the moment has arrived for Werder Bremen. They won 1-0 against Bayer Leverkusen. And I know, my chance has come :)

The game was on Saturday. In Sunday morning, I wake up and pay attention to the radio; waiting for the announcement of the welcoming party. Although my German still bad; but I can catch important keywords about the party. It started at 14.00 from central station and will end at the balcony in the city centre.

So I go there. I am already late in central station so I decide to wait at city centre. It is as I expected, a lot of people with Werder Bremen accessories are there. Old, young, babies; they all smiling, cheering, singing, and a little bit of dancing. The party is organized by the local radio station. It has many sound amplifiers, big screen, and stage. They play some music and mainly Werder Bremen songs. It’s a very nice atmosphere; especially the weather is also nice. So finally, this is it. This is how it feels. It feels nice.

Of course it’s getting nicer as the players parade come. People cheer them. I can’t see much as I am drowned amongst the German giants; but it doesn’t matter. I still can’t see much when the players standing on the balcony; especially because I stand on a side part not in front of. But I join all the ceremony; singing and shouting the yells.

The balcony ceremony last around one hour; and after that people start to become less crowded. Off all thousands of people, I only meet one person that I know; and she helped me in taking picture of me, the only picture of myself that I have from the party :)

However, apparently the party is not over yet. The players then appear on the stage outside the building. This time I get a better chance to see the players although from a distance. Another cheering is filling the air; and after around 30 minutes, the players are gone which mean the party ceremony is over.

I decide to go home after; so I go to the nearest tram station to wait for my tram. And what a surprised, the Werder Bremen bus is there; ready to bring the players back. Well, why rush in going home; beside the tram still on hold until the bus passes. So I take my chance to give my final wave to the players.

Hooligans’ Lesson Learned

In May 20th, Werder Bremen plays for UEFA Cup final against Shaktar Donetsk from Ukraine.

I am so excited with this; because if Werder wins, then I’ll have a chance to experience having a whole-city-party due to football. I have missed that chance last year when Germany lost against Spain in European Cup final.

To watch the final, me and my friend went to a well known club called Largehaus; where it uses to host various cultural events. There, they have big screen and many people really crowd the place.

But as the world know it by now, Werder lost :( And there goes my chance to experience the football party in the city…. :(

Surprisingly, well to my Indonesian standard, of course, there is no riot on the street. Of course many police are there, watching us. But surely, it if would happen in Indonesia, there will be a riot and street lamps would end up tumbling down…

Okay, that’s the difference between hooligans on developed country and hooligans from developing country, I guess….

Autograph from International Football Star

For all my life, I never got any autograph from any International Star. Never! You name it, movie stars, football stars, politicians… Never!

Okay I may sound exaggerating because I got Werder Bremen players autograph during Werder Bremen Fans Day; but this time it’s more special.

Remember Ivana? The Brazilian girl who work as publicist for Portuguese-speaking footballers; and found me through this blog? It’s her idea to give me this sweet present. When she interviews Diego, the Brazilian star in Werder Bremen, she asked him to sign his picture designated to me…!!!

As you can see here, it’s Diego’s autograph with saying “Für Asti”. I am so surprised and happy, of course, to receive this sweet present. It’s surely another new experience for me. Thanks Ivana!

Werder Bremen vs Udinese

Ticket Possession

This year Werder Bremen doesn’t do good in Bundesliga; they’re stuck in the middle position somehow. But the good thing, they can compensate it in Europe league; they reach quarter final of UEFA Cup.

For this game, they will face Udinese from Italia. I see the posters of the game, a week before the game, all around the city. I would like to watch it in stadium, since I never see any European competition directly in stadium. But it’s only a week more, I am not sure that I could get the ticket.

First attempt, contact my new friend from Brazil: Ivana. She works at an agency for foreign football players. In this case, Diego from Brazil and Hugo Almeyda from Portugal are listed under her agency. Her work is to promote the footballer’s achievements in Germany to their home country; so they are recognized by their own countrymen and raise the chance to be part in the national team. In real, Ivana has to interview them regularly and watch all the game that they play; then send all the report, as an article, to journalists in the respective countries. Isn’t that amazing??? She has the coolest job in the world! I never know such a job is exists!!!

Anyway, since I know that Ivana will be in the stadium, I ask my chance to be there also. Unfortunately, and I should’ve known it, she can’t bring people for free. Or else, she would have told me earlier… But she advises me to look for ticket in the Bremen city official website. There’s a section called ‘Blackboard’ where we can put advertisement for free. I am familiar with this, as I got my Linkin Park concert ticket the same way.

So I browse the site and find some offers. I contact them all via email and ask whether they still have the tickets or not. After I have done it, I realize that I have to check the seat places or the position that they offer. And apparently, only 2 of them offer seats in the below part, and the rest is in balcony. So I really hope that I can get the below part.

And my pray is answered. From the 2 seats in the below part, one contact me back. He said he still have 2 tickets. The seats are in a block near the corner post. Actually I would love to have the other one as it’s more in the middle part of the stadium; but since there’s no reply from the owner, I decide to take these corner seats before everything is too late.

When I pick up my tickets, first thing that the owner asks me is that, “Are you For Bremen or for Udinese?”. And I ask him back, “Why? You feel bad if you sell it to Udinese fans?”. And he just say, “Uhm, I don’t know…”


The Game (April 9th 2009)

In D-day, I go to the match with Ivana and Christoph, a native Bremen. Since Ivana has to work, we separate and set the meeting place after the game.
When I find out my seating place, I am so surprised that I can see the field so close. I think this is the first time that I can see live football match in close range. This is due to the fact that Bremen stadium doesn’t have athletic field, so the distance between football field and the seats is so close. In Indonesia, I live near the national stadium; so this is kinda the only stadium that I visit; and since it has athletic field, so the distance between football field and the seats is somehow far. Also, I never watch any game from below part!!! It’s always in the balcony part because it’s cheaper. Hmmm wait, I think I have watched a game in below part, but it’s right behind the goal; so it’s not a good view after all. And again, compare to now, I can sit on a proper plastic seat; while in Indonesia I always sit on a wooden bench or even cement seat. So this is like jumping to higher social class for me ;)

The fact that I can sit in this German stadium is also nice; because it means that I am not blocked by Germans’ heads as if in the standing sector. It even nicer because the person who sits in front of me is a little girl. So I can see the game perfectly. The little girl even seems to like me because she keeps turn her head and smiles to me. So cute! It reminds me a bit of my childhood, actually; going to football stadium with my father.

By the way, right after I got the tickets, I tell my family and friends in Indonesia that I’ll watch the game in the stadium. And since it’ll be broadcasting to Indonesia, I told them to pay extra attention during corner kicks, because I might be seen. During the game, in the first half there’s no corner kicks from corner post nearby. But in the second half, there’re some corner kicks from my corner post. And whenever it happens, I wave my scarf or stand up; hoping that somebody in Indonesia will recognize me…

The game is interesting although it’s boring for the first 20 minutes. In the end Bremen won 3 against 1. Ivana is so happy because the goal scorers are Diego and Almeyda; both under her agency.

We go home at almost midnight; and after uploading some of the pictures in facebook, I sleep at around 2AM. In the next morning, I wake up with dizziness which doesn’t go for the whole day. Hmmm…. I guess I have football hangover…

Werder Bremen Fans Day

In July 3rd, there’s so called Tag Der Fans or Werder Bremen (WB) Fans Day. This is the day where WB greets the fans and introduced their latest line up for the up coming season in the stadium. In this day, there are a lot of WB’s sponsors booths and games; just like in a fair. Also, there is an open public training demonstration and, this is the most interesting part, signature session!

As a football craze, of course I would like to experience this. I want to know the tradition of a football club especially in Europe. Well maybe this is not so long tradition, but I want to know anyway… And for sure, I would like to experience in getting the signature; which also means the chance to meet football stars in person.

Luckily, there’s one of my Indonesian friend who would like to come along. The signature session is started at 11.30AM. Me and my friend come at 10.30AM; and as it predicted, the queuing line is already long! Just check at this video:

When we’re about third-quarter-way, there’s a crew (of the event) walking around with poster. In the poster there’re names of the players that will give signatures in the east side. So apparently the team is divided into 2, one in west and the other in east. We line up in east entrance. There, I see the name of my favorite WB player, the goalkeeper, Tim Wiese. I love his style. So I am glad that I am in a right line. But my friend wants to have Torsten Frings signature and he is not in the east side, so she’s a bit disappointed. To leave our line and change to the west side is so risky because the signature session will be ended at 1.30PM no matter what. So if we have to start lining up again in west side, the chance to even enter the signature place is less than just stay at the east side. So we stay.

And after waiting for about 2 hours under the sun and even rain, we finally can enter the stadium at about 30 minutes before the session is over. But the queuing isn’t over yet, we still have to queue inside. However we can see the players now somehow. We are so excited and prepare our stuffs to be signed. I prepare my shirt while my friend prepares her notebook; and of course we both prepare our cameras!

Finally, we are face to face with the players. But then, one of the crews start giving instruction, saying that the time almost over and we have to speed up. No camera and no signature in places other than the official cards!!! So, each player has a card with picture and short biodata; and they sign it then give it to us. That’s all!!! So there it goes, my chance to meet European football stars just fly away. Nothing special. It fees like just meeting bunch of European in an exhibition; go to a booth and collecting cards. :( I manage to document some of the players but when I try to take picture of Tim Wiese, my camera is blocked by a crew :(

After the signature session, there’s an open public training demonstration. There I meet my German friend. I told her about our experience in getting the signature. She said we’re lucky cause we can collect 11 signatures. Last year, the queuing is based on each player. So you can see which player is so favorite, with long line, and which one is not. And my friend only can collect 2 because she lines up for Tim Wiese and Torsten Frings.

The training itself isn’t so special, if I can’t say it boring. They just demonstrate some of the training session: some players just jogging around the field and some play football in half size field. In the end all the players try to shoot from half line to the goal. This training session ends after an hour.

So basically the event is over. But the booths and games are still open for awhile. Also the fans shop. We head to the fan shop to check the merchandise because it says that all articles are discounted for 20% just for today. Well, they all still far from our budget somehow…

If people ask me whether I have a nice time or not; well, it’s hard to say. Of course I am glad that I can experience all of these. But the fact that I can’t interact with the players surely is annoying. Well at least I get the real signature and not printed ones. And I don’t wanna hear anybody says to me, “Is that all that you got?!”. Argh, I will surely punch that person right away!!!

And for Werder Bremen, I’ll be back next year! If I have to, I’ll just camping in front of the queuing line…!!!

Euro 2008

Finally, I can watch European football games without having to stay awake in midnight time! Yeah, of course I also watch Champions League and UEFA Cup, but now I have a chance to watch Euro 2008.

Since I am living in Germany now, so I ‘have to’ support Germany. Of course there’s no obligation for that. But I just want to experience the whole thing, supporting one team and feel the excitement. If I am just being neutral, the excitement will not be so fun.

Below, I only talk about game that I watched and documented. So not all the game that I watched will be presented here, cause the discussion will be very long then.

Watching Football in France
When I went to France, I also apply the same thing. I support France when they play against Romania. Surprisingly, not many people watch football in cafes. The situation is not as crazy as in Germany. In Germany, people are just wearing any national football jersey and watch the live broadcast together. But in France, just take a look at this video, the café is so empty :(

Football Fever in Germany
As I mentioned before, situation in Germany is so crazy. People wear many national team jerseys; stores are selling many attributes regarding Euro 2008; and flags of the participating teams are everywhere! I love this, you can express yourself freely!


Germany vs Austria
This is the only qualification round for Germany that I watch in public place. I watch it with friends in an open air café. I don’t think German plays well, but their goal is pretty impressive.
This is a crucial game for Germany as they can’t loose to be able to qualify. Especially not to Austria, the neighbor country. In the end, Germany won with 1-0.





Germany vs Portugal
This time, I watch it at a café near my apartment. It’s a very comfortable place as it has big cozy sofa. Surprisingly, most of my classmates also come!
And surprisingly also, the Germans play so well. In the beginning, I thought they are going to loose against Portugal because Portugal played so well in the qualification round. But football is football, anything can happen. That’s why we all love it ;)
Overall, the game is very interesting. Both teams are active in attacking and the tempo is pretty fast. I think, this is the best match in Euro 2008 so far.

The crowd goes crazy when Germany scores

Holland vs Russia
Another crazy game! Holland was so strong during group qualification. They smashed Italy and France, so it’s no surprise if they become one of the favorites to win the tournament. I also thought they will win.

However, in the last Russian match against Sweden, I see that Russia is a very strong team. They are very good in teamwork. And when I realize that their coach is the Dutchman Guus Hiddink, I am not surprised and sure that the game against Holland will be an interesting one.

And indeed, the Russian seems to teach Holland how to play football. In the group qualification, it was Holland who always teaches other teams about how to play football. They even ‘punish’ their opponents, whenever the opponents dare to attack them, with a magnificent counter attack. But this time, Russia overplays Holland. They are faster, rarely looses any balls, and hard to penetrate. Holland’s counter attack doesn’t work at all. I always thought that van Persie is an ideal match with Robben; if only one of them plays, it won’t be maximum.

This game is a proof that having a good coach is more important than having bunch of star players. But probably since Guus Hiddink is Dutch, he can understand Van Basten’s instruction; and make a strategy for his team out of it ;)

Analysis and Prediction
So far, 3 quarterfinals have been played. And all the teams, which qualified as winner in their group, were lost. So let’s see whether Spain will fit into this pattern or they become anomaly.

About prediction, I really don’t know. The strong teams become weak and vice versa.

Beside, it’s European Cup. If Greece and last-time-substitute, Denmark, can won the championship; anything can really happen.

First Semifinal: Germany vs Turkey
A lot of controversies accompanying this game even before it started. Well, here’s the reality, Turkish communities is the 2nd largest population in Germany. So within one country, there’ll be 2 large groups of separate supporters. Of course there are also social issues like everywhere in the world whenever talking about the largest and 2nd largest social group, but I wouldn’t elaborate more in here. But anyway, the potential of riot is big!

So, to see how much the game will affect the social construction in Germany, I decide to go watching the match in public viewing area. The place is called ‘marktplatz’; it’s an open space downtown where normally used as traditional market.

For the game, the ‘marktplatz’ is surrounded by fence. We have to pay €1 to enter. Inside, there’s 1 big screen and many F&B vendors. But the typical problem for me in this situation is just one: I am drowning among the tall Germans! I can’t see the screen!

Okay, so the bad thing is the screen is only one. So all people don’t have option and have to look to one direction. And me…??? Well sometime I can see it, but most of the time I can’t :(
Luckily, I went there with my giant friends. So whenever there’s a goal, they lift me up so I can see the replay. Yup, right… I only see the replays, not the real goals :(

During the match, there’re 2 times that the broadcast network went down! So the screen just goes blank for some minutes! Oh well, developed country…

As for the supporters issues, well as far as I saw, no clash between them. People with Turkish flag and German flag can stay at the same place peacefully. However, one of my friends sees a brawl when he went home.

As we all know, the game ends in 3-2 for Germany. And this situation has created a big party on the streets. Every car blocks the road and just keep honking while the passenger waving the flag. This means, the tram can’t pass. And for going home, I have to take a bus until main station (as bus can seek for alternative route) then walk for 3 or 4 stops then continue with other tram then continue with the tram that goes to my home. I arrive exactly at midnight with sore legs as I have to stand up the whole game and walk! :(

Before Final
I am glad that Spain can go to final; which make them the only team that top the group qualification and go through. So they become the deviation from the model that I elaborate earlier ;)

Furthermore, they only have won in once in 1964. They must be so motivated to win again. The way they play against Russia also smart. They make the Russian can’t develop their play. Although it’s a bit rough in the first half but in the second half, Spain really controlling the game. Congratulation Spain!

It’ll be an interesting game for the final!

The Final
“Pssst, don’t tell the Germans, but I think they’ll loose…” this is what I said to my brother on the email one day before the final game. Well, after watching Spain against Russia, I think Spain is stronger than Germany. And it’s not just my opinion, critiques even hail them as “Football on its best”. But Germany is a tournament team, they always get lucky. Don’t believe? Check the semifinal again between Germany against Turkey!

Anyway, I still support Germany. If I were lucky, I would feel the football party, the taste of becoming winner. So, to prepare for the best, me and my friends plan to watch it downtown. But this time we got a very nice place. It’s still open air but I don’t have to stand up at all. It’s on the open air café called Goetheplatz. The screen is low, it was attached to a box car. So people can just sit to watch it. I sit on the ground, 2 rows from the front; so my view isn’t blocked by any German head.

Unlike when Germany plays against Turkey, I didn’t see any Spain supporter but one. This guy on the picture. Maybe there’re a lot of Spain supporters but they don’t dare to wear the attributes openly. So this guy really has nerve! And this why I salute the Germans, they won’t bother you. They respect the freedom of expression.

When the game started, I see Germany attacks Spain in high pressure. The only thing that crossed my mind at that time was, “So, this is the difference between regular winner and the inexperience one. The experienced one plays in full confident while the inexperienced one looks nervous.” And I start to think that maybe Germany will win because of their mentality.

But then halftime of first round, the game starts to change. Spain can release themselves from the pressure and starts attacking back; and they surely become dangerous. But again, Germany isn’t an easy team to beat. This makes the first 45 minutes so interesting. And of course the goal makes it more interesting. But after the first half, I start to believe that Spain will win!

Second half started, and Germany looks energized again. It looks good in the beginning until it’s so obvious that Germany has lost their grip. Whenever Spain attacks, German defenders are mostly not there; or whenever they can take the ball from the Spain, they will soon loose it again. So it’s only a matter of time. Spain will win.

After the Game
There’re many sad faces during my way home. I thought the supporters will just go home in disappointment. Somehow I was wrong. Some Germans are just partying, don’t mind who win. If they find any Spain supporters, they will just join them partying!!! Nice attitude!

It was almost midnight and me and my friends have to catch the last tram; or else we have to wait for the night bus which will come 30 minutes mater. But apparently, so do many people! So when the tram comes, people just rush to go in. They even pushed each other to fit in. This situation reminds me of the situation around end of Ramadan (Indonesian: Lebaran) where many people will travel home.

I am also getting pushed inside. But the suffering doesn’t stop inside. People still pushing each other and I can’t balance myself; I can’t stand up straight. In the end, and this is the most embarrassing part, I end up sitting on a guy’s lap!!! Yeah true, I didn’t do it intentionally!
So for the whole trip to home, I just sit on his lap! Apparently most of the passengers are also students who live in the student apartments nearby my place. Of course I apologize to the guy and told him I don’t have any choice. And of course he said that he understands and doesn’t mind. He looks cool; he even looks so young, my guess probably high school student. But his friend looks surprised. His friend seems can’t hide his smile whenever he sees us! Oh well, whatever…

Watching Live Football Match

Before I went to Germany, the only thing that crossed my mind whenever the name ‘Bremen’ pops up is ‘Werder Bremen’; the football club in Bremen. Although I’ve heard about ‘4 Musicians from Bremen’ tale when I was a kid, I really don’t remember it until I have arrived here.

So, of course watching Werder Bremen live in their stadium is one of my must things to do. And even if I could do more, like working part time for them, that would be lovely! But apparently it’s not easy. Getting the ticket is so difficult. Tickets have been sold out weeks or months before the match itself. Well, maybe in winter it’s easier to get the ticket. But freezing in the stadium for 2 hours? Naaah, I’d better wait.

Luckily, I know somebody that has a boyfriend who work for ticket sales :) How’s that… After months trying to look for info, suddenly the info comes to me… God really works in mysterious way!

But still, it’s not easy to get tickets. The tickets have been sold out, so the only chance is waiting for people who return their tickets. After waiting while praying, then the good news came: We got the tickets!

So this is it. Finally I get a chance to see European football match live; after just seen it in TV for several years. I will feel the atmosphere. I will feel the excitement.

On the D-day, we’re 8 people in the end. We watch it from the standing sector, the cheapest one. We buy for this sector because we want to feel the real excitement, and not because of any financial reason. Standing sector is the place where all the party happens. However, there’re 2 standing sectors: one for the hard core fans on the right side and the other is for calmer die hard fans on the left side. As a foreigner girl, I am not advised to go to hard core fans sector. (There’re 3 foreigner girls in our group). I think I can understand this situation as in Indonesia I also stay away from the potential-riot-making hard core fans.

I never have been to Werder-Stadion before.

So, although I know that it’s located in suburb area, I am so surprised to see that the stadium is located close to private housing. My God, I wonder how it will be if the match end up in riot??? Maybe that’s so Indonesia!!

Today, May 10th 2008, is the last home game of this season for Werder Bremen. The opponent is Hannover 96. As Bayern Muenchen has won the Bundesliga title, Werder Bremen needs to stay at 2nd position in order to be able to compete in European Champions League. Also, Werder Bremen always claim itself as the strongest team in Northern Germany; so to win against other Northern football team is a must. And I’ll be witnessing all of these ambitions.


So there I was, joining other 42,099 fans in the stadium and absorbing the aura.
We arrived about 1 hour before the match started. And some minutes before the match, the players start to do their warming up. To welcome the players into the field, the announcer will say the first name of the player and the fans will scream the last name. For example, the goalkeeper: Tim Wiese. The announcer will say, “Tim” and the fans will scream “Wiese!!!”. For the players who only have ‘one name’ like Naldo and Diego, there’re other rules. For Naldo, the announcer will say, “Nal… Nal… Nal…” and the fans will scream, “Do!!!”. And for Diego, the announcer will say, “Dieee…” and the fans will scream, “Gooo!!!”. So lovely :) And of course, when Hannover players were announced, we all just scream, “Booooo!!!”

Finally, the match will start. However, there’s a ritual before it started. The anthem of Werder Bremen is aired and all the fans stand up and lift their scarf. They then sing along together. Very nice! This is exactly the atmosphere that I want to feel: being in the middle of the football crowd singing their anthem. I feel really really grateful.

Then, the kick off! The party is started. Singing and shouting are continuously filling the atmosphere to support Werder Bremen. Of course the hard core fans sector is the leader in directing what to sing or shout. During this, I learned a song about Werder Bremen is the number one team in Northern Germany and some supportive shouts. Cool!!!

And after about 14 minutes, then the first goal for Werder Bremen is made. It’s a very nice collaboration between Naldo and Hugo Almeida. After the goal, the announcer guides the fans, that the one who pas the ball is, “Nal… Nal… Nal…” and the fans shout, “Naldo!!!”. Then the announcer says that the goal scorer is, “Hugo” and the fans scream, “Almeida!!!”. After that the announcer asks about the score like, “How’s the score for Bremen?” the fans shout, “One!”. And the announcer asks again, “And for Hannover?” the fans scream, “Null!”. Then the announcer says, “Thank You!” and the fans say, “You’re welcome!”.

After the Goal

In the first half, the score is 2-0 for Bremen. We’re happy but we hope that there’ll be more goals in the 2nd half because Hannover goal will be in front of our seats. And apparently our wishes are coming true! More 4 goals are created in the second half, make the final score becomes 6-1 for Werder Bremen. I even can record the 4th goal with my camera because the goal is initiated by penalty, so I am well prepared. Diego’s penalty is blocked but then Ivan Klasnic can take advantage of the rebound to score. I upload this video in youtube. In less than 24 hours, this video has been viewed for more than 100 times although I haven’t told anybody about it!!!

The Goal

There’s also a slight drama from this game. The 3rd goal scorer, Tim Borowski, is withdrawn after making the score. This would be his last home game with Werder Bremen as in the next season he’ll join Bayern Muenchen. When he’s walking to the dressing room, he has to walk about half a stadium. All the fans are shouting his name emotionally, expressing their thankfulness. In the other hand, Tim Borowski also bows and claps, appreciating the fans. It’s so touchy!

When the game is over, all players walk circling the stadium, thanking the fans while distributing some balls. I feel so happy and content that I can experience all of these. Everything is so perfect. The weather is so perfect at that time, it’s so warm and sunny. The score is good, it’s the biggest score for Werder Bremen during this season. And this is the last home game, so the stadium is full capacity and the fans go crazy. Sooo perfect!!! I hope this wouldn’t be the only live European game that I watch. It’s just the beginning…
